Aircraft Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A helicopter soaring above a crowded southern California shoreline unexpectedly started spinning wildly, eventually descending rapidly and crashing into a cluster of palm trees as onlookers watched.
Videos shared on social media depict the aircraft starting to spin over the shoreline then plunging near the perimeter of the beach, where it gets stuck among palms and a set of stairs close to the coastal road.
First Aid Details
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five persons were rushed to the hospital involving a pair who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the incident on the weekend.
Three people on the pavement were harmed. Details on their wounds were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
